revolutionary New Richmonder news since 2021 (1RY)
Premier Brooklyn Hewitt, in her capacity as Minister for Foreign and Military Affairs, signed treaties of mutual recognition and formal diplomatic relations with the leaders of the Republic of Nordale and the State of Shoreline yesterday. The two nations are notable for their shared history with the NRR - all three were previously under the sovereignty of the Commonwealth of New Virginia, and served as hotbeds of revolutionary activity. New Richmond and Shoreline were additionally former possessions of the Empire of Austenasia prior to the New Virginian secession in February 2020. The treaties follow a decree of the Central Executive Committee which granted the leaders of Nordale and Shoreline - Sophia Albina and Elizabeth Lewis, respectively - the Order of the July Revolution, the Republic's highest honor. The treaties have been described by Comrade Brooklyn as a first step towards the establishment of a New Virginian heritage organization, a concept proposed by various leaders of the Commonwealth and its descendant nations since the fragmentation of New Virginia last month. A similar treaty is currently pending with the New Virginian government. She has also stated that these nations are primary candidates for cooperation in trade following the launch of MEDFA's (the Ministry of Economic Development and Fiscal Affairs) first annual economic policy later this month.
