![]() Comrade Brooklyn Hewitt, our Party Secretary-General and Prime Minister, has been elected to a third term as Vice-Chair of the Grand Unified Micronational. The GUM is a prominent intermicronational organization which has held a position of prominence in the diplomacy of the MicroWiki community since 2009. Comrade Brooklyn was nominated for the position by incumbent Chair Adam I of Adammia - best known to New Richmonders as former New Virginian Senate President and counter-revolutionary leader Adam Belcher - following an announcement from Vice-Chair Jack Dean wherein he stated his desire to step down, citing conflicting obligations and a lack of available time. ![]() Regarding the nomination, the Chair said "Brooklyn and myself have worked together in micronationalism for a very long time, and I very strongly trust in the belief that she shares with me for this [organization]." Brotherly Leader Leon Montan of Ponderosa Hills - a hero of the July Revolution and friend of the NRR - addressed Quorum in favor of Comrade Brooklyn's election: "I fully support the nomination of Ms. Hewitt... I have known Brooklyn for quite some time at this point, and can assure that she would be the prime choice for this position." President Montan continued, saying that "[Hewitt] has experience that can, and will, apply to this position, and her actions during the recent events on MicroWiki a few months ago have shown me that her moral compass is in the right spot." Comrade Brooklyn was confirmed as Vice-Chair with twenty-two votes in favor, one vote in opposition, and six votes in abstention.
Vice-Chairwoman Hewitt's election marks her third term in that office, having previously held it in 2015 under Adam I of Adammia (whom she currently serves under) and in 2021 under Jack Dean (whom she succeeded with her most recent election); additionally, she has previously served as Chair, Supreme Justice, and Associate Justice. She is one of only four people to have been elected Vice-Chair thrice alongside Sôgmô C. Soergel Publicola of Sandus, Matthew of Essexia, and Jonathan I of Austenasia (who has also served a fourth term, albeit in an acting capacity). Her term will end on the 30th of June 2022 (1 RY).
