The Mountaineer
revolutionary New Richmonder news since 2021 (1RY)
![]() The Central Executive Committee has issued two decrees in the past two days - one changing the National Anthem and the other changing the State Seal. The new anthem, Mountain Standard On High, was adopted on the 24th of July. Composed by Chinese communist composer Nie Er, it is most recognizable as the Chinese national anthem March of the Volunteers; however, the New Richmonder rendition is performed in a different key and has entirely new lyrics written by the respected Chairwoman Brooklyn Hewitt. Mountain Standard On High replaces the revolutionary song Which Side Are You On? which has served as the Republic's anthem since the Proclamation of the Republic last year; the Chairwoman has signaled that it will remain in use as the anthem of the Blair Mountain League. The new State Seal was designed by the New Virginian graphic artist Sir William Wilson following the instructions of the respected Chairwoman; the Mountain Standard (the NRR's flag) was designed earlier this year by the two in much the same way. It is the third seal used by the New Richmond Republic.
