In her capacity as Party Chairwoman, Comrade Brooklyn Hewitt has announced that the First Revolutionary Congress of the Blair Mountain League will be held at the Palace of Red July in Friedecksburg, New Richmond City on the first anniversary of the New Virginian July Socialist Revolution. The Blair Mountain League is the Republic's vanguard party and one of the two great elements of the microsocialist republican system in accordance with the Basic Law and Hewittism - the party's guiding ideology, derived from the micropatriological and political theories and positions of Comrade Brooklyn. Following the collapse of the New Virginian Revolutionary Committee for the Salvation of the Commonwealth, the members and supporters of the 29th of July Movement in the City of New Richmond and the Greater Richmond region reconstituted themselves as the Blair Mountain League and named Comrade Brooklyn as the party's Secretary-General (now called Chairwoman) by acclamation. Soon thereafter, she proclaimed the independence of the New Richmond Republic under the party's guidance. In the time since the proclamation of the Republic, the party has mostly sat dormant as its only designated leader tended to building the foundations of the Central People's Government through her role as Prime Minister. Following the conclusion of the second ordinary session of the Congress of People's Councils in February of this year, Comrade Brooklyn discussed her intention to organize a formal meeting of the party's membership to discuss fundamental party matters. The Revolutionary Congress (or Revcong) was announced to the public on the 25th of last month.
The Congress will be held in person at the Palace of Red July - the official meeting place of the Congress of People's Councils and current home of the Office of the People's Commissioner, formerly known as Government House in the Commonwealth of New Virginia and Empire of Austenasia - on the anniversary of the July Revolution and the beginning of the Second Revolutionary Year, the 29th of July 2022 (2 RY). Currently announced issues for discussion include the enactment of a Party Constitution, the adoption of a manifesto, the clarification of many ideological questions, and the election of the Chairperson and the proposed Revolutionary Committee (or Revcomit), an executive committee similar in function to the state Central Executive Committee. Comrade Brooklyn has said that she intends for the Revcong to meet once per year in the summertime. While the proceedings of the Revcong will not be open to the international public, an open Party Conference will be held soon after the end of the convocation on the NRR discord server which anyone from the community can attend. The Party intends to invite various prominent micronationalists from across the community to speak at the Conference. Additionally, the Chairwoman announced the formation of a provisional Revcomit on the 6th of this month to assist in organizing the upcoming Revcong convocation. She has appointed herself, Comrade People's Commissioner K. Riley Hewitt, and Comrade Minister Chris Faine to the provisional Revcomit; it will hypothetically be elected annually under the terms of the draft Party Constitution.
