![]() Armaroja, a parcel of land in California, has been annexed as the first unincorporated territory of the New Richmond Republic. The territory, comprising nearly nine acres of grassland, was gifted to the Republic by Citizen-Premier Sophia Albina of the Republic of Nordale as a sign of the fraternal bonds between the New Richmonder and Nordalian peoples as members of the New Virginian multinational community. The annexation of Armaroja is historic as it is the first land claim of the Republic outside of the Appalachian and Kentucky Bluegrass regions, as well as the first unincorporated territory annexed under the recently-adopted federal system.

The Second Ordinary Session of the Third Congress of People's Councils has concluded its business after enacting the Second Amendment to the Second Basic Law and various acts; concurrently, the Ministry of Economic Development and Fiscal Affairs announced the Second Annual Economic Plan. The Second Amendment, adopted unanimously by Congress and thereafter granted consent by the respected Mother Hewitt as People's Commissioner, instituted major reforms to the administration of NRR land and political rights of citizens.
The amendment recognized the two cantons - Old Roanoke (formerly known as Meditullia) and Campestria - as sovereign and historical republican entities, exercising their sovereignty in communion with and under the supremacy of the federal sovereignty of the Republic. The second sitting of the still-ongoing ordinary session of the Third Congress of People's Councils has elected a new People's Commissioner, Prime Minister, Central Executive Committee, Consul of Justice, and Supreme Commander.
The session began on the 29th of August after having been postponed due to the flooding disaster in Eastern Kentucky, alongside the still-postponed Blair Mountain League public conference. The Congress of People's Councils is the NRR's supreme organ of state power, and - under normal circumstances - meets twice every year; once in February and once in August. ![]() Just over one year following the collapse of the 29th of July Movement's Revolution, the Party of Red July - a Hewittist revolutionary party - has secured the Presidency and Vice Presidency of the Commonwealth of New Virginia in the first ever popular election for those offices, defeating the anti-revolutionary Commonwealth Renewal Movement under Elizabeth Lewis. The PRJ was established by the respected Mother Hewitt, who currently serves as the outgoing Acting President of the Commonwealth, to serve as an affiliate of the Blair Mountain League within New Virginia; however, she made it apparent she would not contest the leadership of the new party. Comrade James Bornstein, the current Speaker of the New Virginian House of Burgesses, was elected Chairman of the Party by acclamation of its members. ![]() The Congress of People's Councils - the supreme organ of state power - has unanimously approved the Second Basic Law as the Republic's new constitution. The new Basic Law was adopted at an extraordinary session of the State Congress which was announced earlier this week by order of the Central Executive Committee. The draft was written by the respected BML Chairwoman and Prime Minister of the Republic Brooklyn Hewitt. The final paragraph of the Preamble reads: ![]() On the 29th of July 2022 (2RY) - the first anniversary of the New Virginian July Socialist Revolution - the Blair Mountain League held its first Revolutionary Congress at the Palace of Red July in Friedecksburg Borough, New Richmond City. The Revcong saw a complete turnout, with all party members attending either in person or through digital communications. The itinerary was set by the provisional Revolutionary Committee prior to the session. The Congress will be followed by a public Party Conference on the 3rd of August 2022 (2RY). ![]() The Central Executive Committee has issued two decrees in the past two days - one changing the National Anthem and the other changing the State Seal. The new anthem, Mountain Standard On High, was adopted on the 24th of July. Composed by Chinese communist composer Nie Er, it is most recognizable as the Chinese national anthem March of the Volunteers; however, the New Richmonder rendition is performed in a different key and has entirely new lyrics written by the respected Chairwoman Brooklyn Hewitt. Mountain Standard On High replaces the revolutionary song Which Side Are You On? which has served as the Republic's anthem since the Proclamation of the Republic last year; the Chairwoman has signaled that it will remain in use as the anthem of the Blair Mountain League. The Central Executive Committee of the New Richmond Republic has enacted its seventh Decree of the First Revolutionary Year, imposing restrictions on the use and distribution of many substances commonly called "drugs".
The Decree on Controlled Substances was adopted the unanimous consent of the whole Committee - which is vested with legislative authority between the semiannual sessions of the Congress of People's Councils - earlier today, after nearly one month of deliberation and revision by the members thereof. The Decree was proposed by the Chairwoman of the Committee (the Prime Minister of the Republic) Comrade Brooklyn Hewitt with the aim of combatting the opioid epidemic that actively devastates the American communities which encircle the Republic's lands and which many citizens have themselves fallen prey to. Sertor Valentinus has resigned the Presidency of the Commonwealth of New Virginia following backlash he received due to leaked screenshots that show him using an anti-Romani racial slur to describe his hatred of "travelers".
In the screenshot, which was leaked from the private micronational social club known as "the Fun Gang" on the 24th of June, Valentinus says that he "fucking hates g*psies." In the past, numerous people in the New Virginian sector and elsewhere have confronted him regarding his usage of the slur, to which he has universally claimed that his use of the word is innocuous and not racially-motivated. In her capacity as Party Chairwoman, Comrade Brooklyn Hewitt has announced that the First Revolutionary Congress of the Blair Mountain League will be held at the Palace of Red July in Friedecksburg, New Richmond City on the first anniversary of the New Virginian July Socialist Revolution. The Blair Mountain League is the Republic's vanguard party and one of the two great elements of the microsocialist republican system in accordance with the Basic Law and Hewittism - the party's guiding ideology, derived from the micropatriological and political theories and positions of Comrade Brooklyn. Following the collapse of the New Virginian Revolutionary Committee for the Salvation of the Commonwealth, the members and supporters of the 29th of July Movement in the City of New Richmond and the Greater Richmond region reconstituted themselves as the Blair Mountain League and named Comrade Brooklyn as the party's Secretary-General (now called Chairwoman) by acclamation. Soon thereafter, she proclaimed the independence of the New Richmond Republic under the party's guidance.
