Office of the Prime Minister

The Prime Minister is the head of government of the New Richmond Republic and the presiding officer and leader of the Federal Council. The Prime Minister is elected by the Congress of People's Councils alongside the Council every six months. Prior to the enactment of the Second Basic Law on the 11th of August 2022 (2RY), the official name of the office of Prime Minister was Chairperson of the Central Executive Committee, as the Council was known prior to the Second Amendment in December 2022 (2RY).
Whereas the People's Commissioner of the Republic fulfils the largely ceremonial role of head of state, the Prime Minister fulfills the proactive role of chief executive. The Prime Minister is responsible for presiding over sessions of the Council, directing the activities of the ministers and the Council as a whole, and reporting on the activities of the Council to the Congress of People's Councils.
Since the 5th of September 2022 (2RY), the office of Prime Minister has been held by the respected Comrade General Chris Faine.
