Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (or MOFA) is responsible for managing the Republic's diplomatic relations and implementing the Central People's Government's foreign policy. Established by the enactment of the First Basic Law on the 3rd of August 2021 (1RY) as the Ministry of Foreign and Military Affairs (MOFAMA), MOFA is regarded as one of the most important within the Central People's Government given its responsibility for the NRR's international presence. As the former MOFAMA, the Ministry was additionally responsible for state security and the Corps of Revolutionary Guards until the First Amendment to the First Basic Law established the Ministry of State Security on the 18th of February 2022 (1RY).
The Ministry is directed and overseen by the Minister for Foreign Affairs who is elected by the Congress of People's Councils and sits as a member of the Federal Council. The Minister is responsible for directing the activities of MOFA and the subordinate organs and offices under it, representing the Republic in foreign affairs, negotiating treaties, managing the Republic's delegations to international organizations, and reporting on the activities of the Ministry to the Federal Council. The first and incumbent Minister is the respected Mother Hewitt.
