Corps of Revolutionary Guards
The Corps of Revolutionary Guards is the standing military force of the New Richmond Republic. The Ministry of State Security (or MOSS) is responsible for the administration and command of the Corps. The commander-in-chief of the Corps is its Supreme Commander, who is elected to an indefinite term by the Congress of People's Councils. The office of Supreme Commander is held by the respected Mother Hewitt.
The Corps consists of guardians who are organized into geographic units known as Revolutionary Guards, each with their own guard commanders who are assisted by senior guardians. The guard commanders, in turn, report to the Commandant-General of the Corps - the highest-ranking active duty guardian, who is appointed by consensus of the Minister for State Security and the Supreme Commander. The first and incumbent Commandant-General is the respected Comrade General Chris Faine, who additionally serves as Minister for State Security.
