Canton of Old Roanoke
Old Roanoke is one of the Cantons of the Republic, comprising the City of New Richmond and the territories within its vicinity. Often called "the heartland," Old Roanoke's territory and sphere of influence encompass the lands on which the original New Richmonder society's first micronational incarnation began in 2013. Prior to the enactment of the Second Amendment to the Second Basic Law, the canton was known as Meditullia.
The Old Roanoker cantonal capital is the City of New Richmond. The first and incumbent Governor of Old Roanoke is Comrade K. Riley Hewitt, who formerly served as the first People's Commissioner of the Republic. |

- Sandra's Isle County - a nature reserve.
- Nubes Peaks Military District - a nature reserve historically used as a military training ground.

Government
As a canton of the New Richmond Republic, Old Roanoke is a sovereign and federated republican entity governed by its own constitution in accordance with the Basic Law and the laws of the Central People's Government. At present, no constitution has been enacted by the people's councils in Old Roanoke.
The Governor of Old Roanoke is the elected executive leader of the canton. The Governor is responsible for the execution and enforcement of cantonal law and for the appointment of county sheriffs, among other lesser duties.
