Canton of Campestria

Campestria is one of the Cantons of the Republic, comprising the lands west of the Appalachian mountains or north of the Ohio River. Considered to be the Republic's frontier, the Campestrian lands are all significantly newer than those of the Canton of Old Roanoke and were annexed after the Republic's proclamation.
The Campestrian cantonal capital is Fayette Commune. The first and incumbent Governor of Campestria is Comrade Savannah Collins of Northern Grove Commune. |

Government
As a canton of the New Richmond Republic, Campestria is a sovereign and federated republican entity governed by its own constitution in accordance with the Basic Law and the laws of the Central People's Government. At present, no constitution has been enacted by the people's councils in Campestria.
The Governor of Campestria is the elected executive leader of the canton. The Governor is responsible for the execution and enforcement of cantonal law and for the appointment of county sheriffs, among other lesser duties.

The Canton of Campestria is composed of:
- Fayette Commune - located in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky.
- Northern Grove Commune - located just north of the Ohio River in North Central Appalachia.
- Shiloh Creek County - public park and nature reserve.
- Valentinois County - public park and nature reserve.
- Chambers Bend Maritime County - consists of a bend of the Kentucky River, used as a public boat dock.
